Emission factors
Emission factors referenced on ESG Minute come from public sources: MCTI (the Brazilian government’s official grid emission factor), DEFRA (UK), ICAO (aviation), and the GHG Protocol. We cite the specific source inline when a figure depends on it.
Carbon price data
Carbon credit and allowance price data is compiled from public market sources and registries. Prices vary by project, vintage (the year the credit was generated) and registry; each figure we publish is dated and, where relevant, we note the specific project or market segment it refers to.
Currency
Prices originally quoted in other currencies are converted to Brazilian reais or US dollars using the exchange rate on the date the source was published, unless stated otherwise.
Limitations
Market data changes quickly. A figure that was accurate on the date of publication may no longer reflect current market conditions. We do not update published stories retroactively to reflect later price movements; instead, we cover material changes in new stories.
